The assumption of the Virgin is Church tradition. It's not in the Bible and it's not in the Nicene Creed. It is, however, a very ancient tradition. I suppose we could all get into a huge theological argument about it but I doubt whether anyone in this community has the creds to do much besides rant about it.
We clean house on Friday after work and then go out for dinner; it's our "ancient theological tradition". I doubt that there is anything "theological" about Mary being taken away, bones and all, to heaven.
