Who said it that if the people loved their jobs, then one wouldn't have to pay them for working?

If we liked our jobs we would have to pay the company to do it. They pay us because otherwise we wouldn't do the work.

An even larger majority dislike working. That's why we have 20 million Mexican nationals living here. Somebody has to do it.

Love my job.
As with everything else in life, there are parts of the job that suck from time to time. The real problem here is people who think they should have everything they want, all the time.
Hey morons! You put up with the bad to get to the good. That's the way things work! Life isn't a sitcom.

Funny thing how working harder makes you happier. I love my work, and do not even consider it "working" when I am doing it, because I'd rather be doing it than anything else. If you don't feel the same, maybe it's time to think about a new career.
There is a political side to this. I think these attitudes are reflective of a socialist, dependency mindset. If you are feedom-loving, you will refuse to trade your freedom for security. The average American today will trade five pounds of freedom for one pound of security, and I think that is what this poll reflects.
The other aspect of this that I can't help but notice is that people were happier in their work when the workplace was less regulated than it is today. These days, you can't flirt, or make a politically insensitive joke, or smoke, without the system coming down on you. They have taken the humanity out of working, turning people into cubicle-ized robots, walking in fear of their every word or deed. No wonder thay are unhappy.
The next step, of course is to pass a law mandating work happiness.

This is not a bad thing in my view. So people whjo want to be happier will tend towards self-employment. And how would that be a bad thing for people or our country as a whole?

Believe me, I have worked many, many jobs and the worst, by far, were the ones where I decided I didn't want to do my best. This is nothing but sniveling - pure and simple.
