You're right... However, I also remember AG Ashcroft stating that the 2nd Amendment affirms the individual's right to keep and bear arms.

While at the same time maintaining that none of the current thousands of gun laws, including the then in effect AWB, violated that right. Still, much better than Reno or Gonzales.
