Word!
This is a pretty good example of pathological media.
I find it interesting that American estimates are so accurate. Our attacks probably have killed about 10k. Terrorists in Iraq have killed 30-50k. But the article pretends that all the deaths are the result of US attacks.
More useless distorted statistics. The author is talking about Deaths and then adds wounded to his figures to make them look good.
But then in a recent poll it was learned that 94% of Americans know someone who is illiterate or gets their news from the AP. /s
That's strange! I remember a liberal report in the media just before we went into Iraq that claimed that "Cheney requested 10,000 body bags to be sent to the field"
If anything, we over estimated. Though one death of an American troop is always one death too many.
If Murtha and Pelosi get their way then we can expect quite a few more 'gigantic holes in the ground' in American cities.
Way to go, idiot Libs!
I don't mean this as a personal attack at all, only as a critique, but frankly, the all-caps-and-funny-colors routine makes you come across as a wild eyed, hyperventilating loon. It is not persausive, and may have the opposite effect of what you're intending. At the very least, it makes the level of debate on FR appear even less serious than usual. ;-)
Agreed. If we somehow end up losing the WoT by failing to stabilize Iraq and flip Iran, then a future administration will end up correcting these mistakes during the next phase of WWIV.
I also bet that most Americans don't know that more than twice as many Iraqi security forces, military and police, have been killed than Americans since the war started or that in 2006, 2,091 Iraqi security forces have been killed versus 707 American KIAs. The MSM would rather not publicize the fact that Iraqis are fighting and dying for their country in ever increasing numbers. It doesn't fit their template.
Personally these @ssholes didn't care when Saddam was slaughtering them wholesale, so why care now? I still want to see the breakdown: How many have our troops killed that where attacking them? How many have the insergents killed? I can't find any database that will break that down.
No need, we'll just get China to build our tanks when the time comes. If we go to war with China, we'll just hit up India. So long as it doesn't get in the way of American Idol and Anna Nicole's rotting body, people won't mind.
McNews continues in the MSM. There is ZERO interest in reporting facts, only in reporting soft press releases that support the media outlet's particular point of view.
PLEASE put a BARF ALERT on these al-AP writings. The LIBERALS will continue to pound down the death toll in Iraq until they get their way and America gives up and goes home with her tail between her legs. ( which is just what they want)
At the same time, WE ARE killing many thousands, tens of thousandss of the enemy...and we are doing it there in Iraq with our allies, the principle ally being the Iraqis themselves.
THAT is the real indication that we are winning that the MSM and the left moonbats and RINOs will not discuss, and that is why we MUST stay the course and remain there until the job is done.
I started reading every third word of his red-letter crazy posting, and it actually says to kill John Lennon.
No, 'cause their deaths can't be blamed on American forces.
This is the lead frontpage story atMSNBC.com.
I friggin' hate the MSM.
AP = Always Pimping
"Gelpi said that while Americans may not view Iraqi deaths through the same prism as American losses, they may use the Iraqi death toll to gauge progress, or lack thereof, on the U.S. effort to promote a stable, secure democracy in Iraq."
Can you imagine what would have happened in WWII if we had been measuring victory or defeat based on casualty numbers?
People die in war! I wish all the bleeding heart wimps would get that through their thick heads.
It seems the AP never heard the great motto that ends with "....and let God sort it out".
;-)
