I certainly agree with that, except when it comes to our urban areas. Withdraw goverment from places like New York City, and they become Mogadishu pretty quickly.
I don't know whom I will support for President next year. Gingrich is my favorite, and I don't think he has much chance and I'm not sure he's running.
I'm also not convinced that Giuliani would govern the country the same way he ran NYC. That's either good or bad depending on how you look at it. It's impossible to argue that he didn't save the city by cracking down. It's also possible to argue that those tactics he used are unacceptable on a national basis. I'm not sure he'd disagree with that assessment.
What state and local authorities can do is quite different than what the federal government can do, and that's a good thing.
