I would wager a guess that the purpose of this "poll" is to gauge the amount of support for Rudy Giuliani on FR. What with the number of capricious bannings of people here who have voiced their support for Rudy, I suspect that the Powers That Be want to measure how broad Rudy's support is on FR before they completely wipe all of us from the rolls. Can FR survive if it eliminates 25% of its active members? Probably not. But the Powers That Be will have to decide that.
Be honest, it's not the support for Rudy that got them banned, it's the manner in which that 'support' was conducted.
It's no secret that Jim Robinson does not like Rudy Giuliani. And it's no secret that he creates and conducts the polls.
Is he interested in purging 25% of his membership? I guess you'd have to ask him directly, but I'll bet you whatever amount you can afford that he's not.
I think the underlying argument between Duncan supporters and Rudy supporters is silly because I don't think there's any way for Duncan to become a frontrunner. It would require a MASSIVE infusion of cash to his campaign to even get him name recognition.
And that's just the start. He's not known as a little government guy, or fiscal conservative. He's wrong on trade policy. He's not particularly charismatic. Other than that, he has a good voting record on most issues that matter to conservatives. He probably would make a fine President.
Would I vote for him in the general election? Hell, yes. But I'm quite sure I'll not get that opportunity.
