Global Warming: Fact, Fiction and Political Endgame (about Al Gore's "Crusade")
The Patriot Post ^ | February 23, 2007

Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Albert Arnold Gore, will be the toast of Hollywood at this weekend’s self-congratulatory soiree known as the Academy Awards.

Gore, whose failure to carry his “home” state of Tennessee cost him the 2000 presidential election, has recast himself as the populist pope of eco-theology and the titular head of the green movement’s developmentally arrested legions.

The doughy darling of Leftcoast glitterati has received two Oscar nominations for a junk-science production called “An Inconvenient Truth,” a pseudo-documentary born of the wildly improbable pop film “The Day After Tomorrow.” Gore’s “Truth,” however, is even stranger than the Hollywood fiction that inspired it.

The celebration of Gore’s film coincides, not coincidentally, with the much-ballyhooed release of a media summary of a report on global warming by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. These two events will serve as a fine backdrop for the coming cavalcade of dire ecological predictions by Gore and his ilk. Their goal will be to saturate the all-too-sympathetic media outlets with apocalyptic hysterics about a man-made global disaster. Perhaps, too, if all goes according to plan, we’ll see another Gore presidential run.

All the “Live Earth” road-show talking points will play up an alarming assertion from Bill Clinton’s former veep: “Never before has all of civilization been threatened. We have everything we need to save it, with the possible exception of political will. But political will is a renewable resource.”

I predict Al Gore will run next year. I know he has said he won't, but he will let himself be "drafted" for "the good of Mother Earth or Gaia".

Global warming is fiction--just a new buzzword for the RATS to hang onto as election rhetoric.

"The celebration of Gore’s film coincides, not coincidentally, with the much-ballyhooed release of a media summary of a report on global warming by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change."

Actually it's the summary of a report that has not yet been written (it's being amended to fit the summary).

Biased as it is, the IPCC report debunks Gore's crockumentary. It makes much less Apocalyptic predictions. It's the best way to score points in an argument with an alarmist -- because it's written by an "unassailable source" -- the UN. You can get it here:

Do you hear that giant sucking sound? It's the so-called carbon exchanges ripping off the unsuspecting the same way they did with the dot.com bubble, after the same algore invented the internet.

For the record, most reputable scientists agree that we are in a period of gradual global warming (about 0.7 degrees Celsius in the last century), and that the greenhouse effect prevents our climate from becoming a deep freeze. Most also agree that the level of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased in the last century, and there is a growing consensus that global warming is due, in part, to the greenhouse effect.

No. They're saying we're ending a 40-year period of gradual warming, that continues a longer 150-year period of warming inside a 25,000 year interglacial period during a 43 million-year ice age.

Outside of the ice ages the earth is about 8 degrees warmer on average and has no glaciers.

No one has demonstrated a mechanism where adding another 0.02 % CO2 to the atmosphere has any measureable effect.

Don't worry or feel guilty. You can cheaply buy indulgences, not from the Vatican this time. Offsets are sold for $50/yr for a small home with one car. My daughter's high end homewith 2 cars and heated pool is just $125/yr. When Hannity criticized algore for his airplane use, the Dem babes said no problem. He just buys offsets.

You've got that right. Russia has huge blocks of credits, due to the collapse of it's economy under communism. China gets credits for cleaning up generating stations (something that first world nations did 30 years ago) -- meanwhile it continues to build a new dirty coal fired plant every week.

>>>....meanwhile it continues to build a new dirty coal fired plant every week.<<<

My suspicion is that they use the equipment from the one they "tear down" to build another. Thus, they get valuable "carbon credits" almost at no cost....

Then they exchange the credits for dollars, pounds, euros and what have you.

Pretty neat trick if you can pull it off indefinitely

I predict another "giant sucking sound": the sound of all the Hollyweird cash being sucked out of the Clinton and Obama campaigns once Algore announces that he's running for president.

Prediction: despite all his naysaying, it'll happen before the end of the summer. He will garner the far-left, MoveOn, antiwar, and Hollyweird support, and will soundly defeat the 'Beast and Osama-Obama in the 'Rat primaries.

Algore will be a much more formidable candidate in the general election than anyone else the 'Rats have to offer. The DBM will see to it that all of his insane sore-loser ranting over the last 6 years will conveniently be ignored, flushed down the memory hole and out of sight and minds of the sheeple who don't closely follow politics. If Iraq is still on the table next year, he will win. Mark my words ...

I think you are right on the money. Gore is an '08 stealth candidate. He has been traveling the country garnering support for the "global warming" movement from grassroots people up to billionaires like Richard Branson, Ted Turner and others. They have been flooding schools and churches with his movie. His climate movement can be rapidly transformed into a "Gore for president" campaign at the right time--like you say--probably August or September. The problem for him is that if he positions himself to the left of Hillary he is another Howard Dean.
