Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Albert Arnold Gore, will be the toast of Hollywood at this weekends self-congratulatory soiree known as the Academy Awards.
Gore, whose failure to carry his home state of Tennessee cost him the 2000 presidential election, has recast himself as the populist pope of eco-theology and the titular head of the green movements developmentally arrested legions.
The doughy darling of Leftcoast glitterati has received two Oscar nominations for a junk-science production called An Inconvenient Truth, a pseudo-documentary born of the wildly improbable pop film The Day After Tomorrow. Gores Truth, however, is even stranger than the Hollywood fiction that inspired it.
The celebration of Gores film coincides, not coincidentally, with the much-ballyhooed release of a media summary of a report on global warming by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. These two events will serve as a fine backdrop for the coming cavalcade of dire ecological predictions by Gore and his ilk. Their goal will be to saturate the all-too-sympathetic media outlets with apocalyptic hysterics about a man-made global disaster. Perhaps, too, if all goes according to plan, well see another Gore presidential run.
All the Live Earth road-show talking points will play up an alarming assertion from Bill Clintons former veep: Never before has all of civilization been threatened. We have everything we need to save it, with the possible exception of political will. But political will is a renewable resource.

You're right, and that's the scary part. Because of the constant drumbeat of propaganda about Iraq from the MSM that we've endured for the last few years, a Howard Dean-type would probably fare much better this time around. Dean himself was well on his way to the 'Rat nomination until the 'Aaaaarrrrrggghhhhh' incident in Iowa: a mistake that Algore's handlers will make sure that he doesn't repeat.
Yeah, Ann Coulter wrote at the time that the Democrat establishment had decided Dean was not electable, that Kerry was, and communicated this to the news media. When Howard screamed the media flooded the airwaves with it as if he had committed a cardinal sin and lined up behind Kerry. The deal was that all Kerry had to do was act presidential and the media would take care of the rest of the campaign. Of course as soon as Kerry gave that absurd, Vaudevillian salute and said, "Reporting for duty," at the convention he broke his part of the deal and the media was running damage control for him until November.
LOL ... All this time I thought he said, "Reporting for Doody."
Leftists like Algore and John Kennedy are all about taxation of property and government control of property.
Government entrenched elitists see themselves as the government aristocracy. They believe they "rule" over the sheeple as a matter of right.
John Kennedy wants an ADA style of attorney fee generating "mill" where private activists can sue private citizens for court ordered attorney fees without end. Where judges make the environmental rules without the need of legislators.
Never thought of that but makes sense.
