The sad part is that there are many anti-religious bigots out there who would love for the Religious Right to just go away.

Not anti-religious, anti-Religious Right. Personally, I think that the people at the Religious Right should mind their own business, instead of pushing through ridiculous legislation like the internet gambling ban.

I never ran across anyone wanting to ban any such thing. If there were such a movement, it was a tiny minority. The Religious Right is much more interested in seeing the end of murdering innocent children while still in the womb, and also the end of the homosexualization of America.
