"One of the individuals hosting Romney in San Diego has been one of the most dedicated financial contributors to embryonic stem cell research in California. This individual is wealthy San Diego businessman Malin Burnham. Malin Burnham gave $50,000 to Prop. 71, the 2004 California initiative that authorized spending $6 billion in public funds for a state embryonic stem cell research enterprise that will eventually kill multiple thousands of growing human babies during unproven and wasteful medical experiments.
"It Get's Worse - Much Worse: The castastrophic information now coming forth regarding the Malin Burnham-Embryonic Stem Cell-Romney relvelations are not the only trouble spots for the Romney "family values" charade. Take for example the woman who is coordinating the San Diego event for Romney, Karolyn Dorsee. Karolyn Dorsee has made a career out of promoting and raising campaign funds for pro-abortion and pro-gay California candidates.

Is the only "R" that he's running on, in his first name? Running somewhere out there to the left of all rino's wanting to appeal to conservatives. Glad it's early in the election season!
Still looking for a Hunter/Gingrich ticket.

Shocking--but not surprising, given Mitt's support for embryonic stem cell research:
"Stem cell research does not require the cloning of human embryos. Some stem cells today are obtained from surplus embryos from in-vitro fertilization. I support that research, provided that those embryos are obtained after a rigorous parental consent process that includes adoption as an alternative. . . . A bill that includes methods such as these and bans all human cloning would receive my full support. I share the excitement and hope that new cures to terrible diseases like multiple sclerosis, juvenile diabetes, and Parkinson's could soon be within our reach." -- Mitt Romney, March 6, 2005
Romney only opposes cloning. He supports the destruction of embryos for "cures."

Sorry, I very much oppose Romney, but disagree with your assessment of modern-day Mormons.

Mormon theology does not think stem cells are humans, in the legal sense, or whatever sense. Send a note to the council of 12 or whatever it is called, and tell them that they are wrong. I think they are right, but that is a sidebar.

Sending this out to all my Mormon friends including his big supporters.
To: Torie
What the LDS church teaches is irrelevent.
What is relevant is what rank-and-file Republicans, those who Romney is trying to suck in with his newfound pseudo-conservatism, think and believe.

Just on stem cells, although religion interests me, and this near atheist knows more about it, than you might surmise. In any event, as to Mormons, that is why politicians of the Mormon faith typically support the research on embryonic cells.

...but disagree with your assessment of modern-day Mormons. And to disagree is your right but you are obviously not familiar with the examples I asked you to research. Of course ignorance is bliss and I wouldn't want you to subject yourself to enlightenment. The truth can be painful.
Good night!

Torie is not competent to teach Mormon theology, and in any event, it is irrelevant. I get your message! LOL. EV, you are slipping a bit into overplaying your hand, and into bullying too much, and posting to the mods and JimRob too much, as a tactic to intimidate. I would tone it down. That is my best advice, and I hold no animus against you, believe it or not. There is a way to make your point, and be effective, in a soft modulated way, as someone once put it. Think about it.

Actually, I have very good LDS sources, and they tell me that your take on their church's position is wrong. They teach "Thou shalt not kill, nor do anything like unto it."
But, Orrin Hatch said he "got a revelation" and a couple of his fellow LDS members in the Senate have followed along.
A horrible way to make public policy, or decide matters of life and death.

I suspect your sources are wrong, and to suggest that Hatch is free lancing, via a personal "revelation," that is not LDS theology, seems quite incredible to me. I don't believe a word of it.
