Thanks. Indians are going to be really angry. Opinion journalist there will demanding that our US leaders allow them to nuke Pakistan again. Nixon, sucking-up to the Brits ("India" "partition" and "Pakistan" as keywords without the quotes), started our oddball, mismatched relations with Pakistan, AFAIK.

Actually, I don't think India will need to worry any more than it already is. The principal targets in India were already covered by the earlier "Pakistani"/Chinese/NK missiles in Pakistan's possession.
This one can only worry Israel.

Pakistan test fires long-range ballistic missile
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan test-fired a nuclear-capable, surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a range of 2,000 km on Friday, a military official said.
The test of the Hatf VI (Shaheen II) missile was successful, he said.
"It can carry all types of warheads including nuclear," the official said.
The Hatf VI is a two-stage solid fuel missile which can carry nuclear and conventional warheads with high accuracy. An advanced version has a potential range of 2,500 km.

That missile range map was for shorter range Ghaznavi missile. This one's for 2000 kms, to be upgraded to 2500 kms.

Well, I guess it will spur more anti-ballistic missile defense research, development and manufacturing. That's a good thing. ABM systems are potentially less costly to build than nukes, if we really get going with them.
