WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A jury ended its second day of deliberations on Thursday without reaching a verdict in the perjury trial of former vice presidential aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who is accused of obstructing an investigation tied to the Iraq war.

The jury of eight women and four men has now spent nearly 12 hours considering whether Dick Cheney's former chief of staff lied to investigators as they sought to determine who leaked the identity of CIA analyst Valerie Plame in 2003 after her husband accused the Bush administration of manipulating intelligence to build its case for war. Jurors are to resume deliberations on Friday.

Libby is charged with two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements and one count of obstruction of justice. He faces up to 30 years in prison and $1.25 million in fines if found guilty.

The jury will wrap this up by tomorrow ... no one on the jury wants to extend this into the weekend,
or into next week.
Guaranteed ...

The last I heard, Wilson and Plame were relocating to New Mexico. Are they gone yet?

I understand Wilson and Plame are purchasing an expensive home near Santa Fe so they can be close to Gov. Richardson. Scum bags.

Hung jury. There was no way that Libby would get an acquittal with a DC Jury, but I would guess there's at least 2 jurors on each side who won't budge.

David Corn looks like a stalker following Libby!!

What is that POS David Corn doing anywhere near Scooter Libby?? Libby's team ought to know someone like Corn would steal a briefcase or documents, etc. if given a glimmer of an opportunity.

This verdict shouldnt have taken over 15 minutes for a Not Guilty verdict, but its DC and they have 8 liberal women on the jury.

Its probably a hung jury.

"He faces up to 30 years in prison and $1.25 million in fines if found guilty."

30 years for WHAT? The way the feds are prosecuting the border patrol, sheriffs, and this hapless dude, my own government is beginning to remind me of the old mafia.

Heck, if Corn was at the courthouse, they should have put him on the stand to find out who leaked the story to him.

Flip charts and masking tape! This entire fiasco has been a waste of resources. These twelve peers along with the persecutor are way out of their league.
