Peltier's trial was the second regarding the shootings of the FBI agents. In the first trial, those charged were acquitted because the jury found the shootings to be in self-defense.
We've just seen what a runaway federal prosecutor can do to two BP agents. From what I have seen, there is a good chance the same was done to Peltier. He at least should get a new trial that wasn't rigged to get the intended results after the feds whiffed on the first trial.
A new trial? After how many years?
And, of course, most of the witnesses against him are now dead. His AIM buddies saw to that.
