I would never have made the claims about you, your record or your motivations if I hadn't been reading your posts for over a year.

Maybe, just maybe, if you want people to stop calling you on that you could consider dropping the terms like "rutards."

Because, as much as you don't want to admit it, there ARE principled conservatives who are supporting Rudy. Right here on FreeRepublic.

Known numbers ranging (at guesstimate levels) somewhere between 200-300.

And that includes people who have been here for years, who fought through the Clinton impeachment battles, who fought through the Sore/Loserman battles, who fought to keep Elian safe and sound and in America and who have invested their time and money to keep this site running.

I've been called a rutard, a rudybot, a rudophile, a RINO, a liberal, a baby killer, a gun grabber, a Democrat. and I've had my faith questioned and more, just because I have a different view on the best candidate to lead our party in 2008.

And THAT's just by the Christians, my supposed brothers and sisters in Christ.

I'm making a very strong effort not to criticize the other candidates (okay maybe except for McCain...and Gilmore, but I'm a Virginian). I WILL support the GOP nominee.

I don't CARE who you work for. I don't CARE who you support.

But don't question my values. Don't question my intelligence. Don't question my morals. And DON'T question my faith.

That name calling is actually kind compared to some of the immature third grade names I was called last week because I support Rudy. I'm embarrassed to post what was said to me a few times last week by men who clearly have serious issues with women.

What they don't get is that it says more about them than it does about us.

When I showed my husband, he told me if I ever gave a thin dime to this web site, he'd cut up the credit cards. He's never said that to me before so I'm taking him at his word :-)

You value a babykilling , homosexual promoting, gun grabber. That is a big deal to most Christians. What are your supposed brothers and sisters in Christ supposed to think about your morals and faith.

A man of faith would ask , and trust God to send a righteous leader.

Corin, my guess is that it's a bit like the "RINOphobes." It's my strong suspicion that those who use the term "RINO" the most aren't Republicans themselves, so use of the term is a bit disingenuous. Ditto those who bash you, or us, for "abandoning" the Christian faith. I suspect most of them aren't actually Christians, other than in some cultural sense, but really have no idea what it means to enter into a personal relationship with God through the grace He bestows in Jesus Christ. I'm willing to discuss, admonish, and challenge, those who want to discuss the role of faith in our political decisions and behavior. But the blind-side attacks on people's faith, simply because they disagree with whom they're supporting for office, is out-of-bounds, IMHO. These cheapshots are also an indication that the Mods here aren't doing their jobs very well.
