My candidate was targeted by Soros, Hillary and MoveOn way back in 2005. This was 1) retribution for his work as chair of the NRSC and 2) getting him out of Hillary's way.

Sure, he made some mistakes. But he also dealt with an onslaught of all out lies about his background, about his character, about his record.

We spent WEEKS debating a disclosure of stock issue. TODAY the Senate Ethics committee admitted Allen made no mistake.

WE faced The Washington Post who wrote over 300 articles on "macaca" alone and ingored Jim Webb's documented racist/sexist past.

So that's what we faced.

And, on a night where Republicans were losing across the nation, we lost by 7,000 votes.

Hell yes it was painful. It still is. It's like a death in the family.

But you, to show your "moral superiority" wear it as a badge of honor.

We know all about your "principled conservatism" EV. It lasts all the way to the bank.

Actually, I'd have never commented on it if you hadn't made claims about me, my record, and my motivations. Just stuffing it back in your face.

Yes it was painful, we all love Allen. He did not lose because of the social conservatives, he lost because the of his social conservatism, and leadership abilities, they were afraid of for the presidential election. They brought up the racism lie to slander his good name, and were able to pull it off. We also lost many because many stayed home because of all the big spending in congress, and people upset , misinformed, whatever about the war.

We really lost because of the media lies. The Republicans as a whole didn't get their message out, and when they did many didn't believe it anymore.

Bill Sali was really aided by all the media and RINO attacks. It showed him for the backboned principled guy that he is. They though they were attacking him, but they drove the message home that he would not go along to get along and had been proving it for 16 years.

Thats what people want.
