"So, this is more important than finding a Real Conservative candidate that can get this country back on track?"
A "real conservative" among the living breathing choices we have now isn't going to get the country on any kind of track because he's not going to win. It's easy to say "we need a conservative candidate who can win." I heartily agree. But saying that doesn't change the fact that candidates like Duncan Hunter and Newt Gingrich constitute the weakest lineup of conservative candidates in my lifetime. Don't get me wrong- they are good conservatives. But you win elections by persuading the 10% of swing voters and neither Hunter nor Gingrich will do that.
This is a tough time for any conservative to win a battleground state- Santorum was a GREAT conservative Senator and he got crushed by a poor candidate in a battleground state. That's the reality of the political situation now.
We've been handed a candidate in Rudy with extraordinary leadership ability in the WOT who can win. And he promises to appoint judges like Scalia if elected. That's a package I can support.
We've been "handed" alright - by the M$M, and they are not our friends. Rudy has baggage - 3rd marriage, no actual foreign policy experience and limited executive experience (NYC is about the same size as North Carolina or New Jersey - not small, but not TX or CA). BTW, as mayor of NYC you don't get experience dealing with a legislature, you have much more control than a president does in setting an agenda.
Exactly right, MittFan. But some here vow they'd rather lose the election, and allow Hillary/Obama to be in control of our country, than vote for an imperfect GOP candidate.
Cutting off their noses to spite their faces.
As for me, if it's Mitt, go Mitt!
If it's Duncan, go Duncan!
If it's Rudy, damn straight go Rudy!
