In order to stop a disturbed murderer, FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) must enlist the help of Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). A former killer himself, Lecter understands how the criminal's mind works and may be the only one who can help Clarice complete her assignment. But can someone as maniacally insane as Lecter truly be trusted?



No western came close to matching the popularity of "Shane," a great cinematic treasure available now on DVD and VHS. It told a familiar story, but A.J Guthrie Jr's screenplay (based on Jack Shaeffer's novel), George Stevens' direction, and a superb cast headed by Alan Ladd (pictured), Van Heflin, and Jean Arthur (in her last screen appearance), offered up something truly special. "Shane" captured six Oscar nominations, attracted audiences not usually interested in westerns, and earned Alan Ladd a respected place in the hearts of western fans everywhere. Jack Palance was the scallywag. He turned a simple act of putting on a glove into a chilling prelude to murder. Emile Meyer was another who was fascinating to watch. And Elisha Cook Jr. and Ben Johnson left memories. But from the opening scene to the last fade-out, the picture belonged to child star Brandon DeWilde. He spoke for every small boy who ever gave his heart to a western hero. What more could a small boy want than a hero like Shane?



The image of the deranged Baby Jane Hudson tormenting her wheelchair bound sister Blanche is one of the most indelible in all of screen history. Never before or since have two such legendary actresses faced off in a movie in such a visceral manner. After decades of stardom both Bette Davis and Joan Crawford had seen better days as box-office attractions when they signed on to star opposite each other in this low-budget thriller directed by Robert Aldrich. Made for less than a million dollars What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? was an instant smash, earning 1.6 million its opening weekend. Within a year it had grossed nearly ten times its production costs and quickly became a cult classic. When the home video market arrived in the nineteen-eighties it was a hit again and thanks to the wonder of the DVD format is still earning revenue today. Not bad for two old broads who hadn't had a bona-fide hit in years.



Considered by many today as the finest baseball movie ever made, “The Pride of the Yankees” follows Gehrig from his historic 14-year major league career through his battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a debilitating nerve disease, which forced him to retire early in 1939. His farewell speech, made upon his retirement, helped immortalize the quiet personality as a hero and an all-American role model. “The Pride of the Yankees,” which features several of Gehrig’s real-life teammates playing themselves, including Bill Dickey, Bob Meusel, Mark Koenig, Bill Stern and Babe Ruth, won the Oscar in 1942 for Film Editing (Daniel Mandell).

Also I think Hyman Roth was good in Godfather 2 it kinda explain betrayels and family valves but classic scene is Kate Corlone told Michael it wasn't miscarriage it was abortionnn MICHAEL

I am partial to John McLain in the "Die Hard" pieces; I also dig Casey Ryback in the "Under Seige" works. Can't forget the vulnerable-yet-forceful Jimmy Dale in "Hoosiers". Ditto for Rod Steiger as Chief Gillespie in "In The Heat of the Night".

Happiness And Holiness

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. —Hebrews 12:14

At Harvard University, you can take a course in happiness. This popular class helps students discover, as the professor states, "How to get happy."

That’s not a bad idea. In fact, the Bible even suggests on several occasions the importance of being happy or joyful. Solomon tells us that God grants happiness to us as a privilege (Eccl. 3:12; 7:14; 11:9).

Sometimes, though, we take the search for earthly happiness too far. We see it as the most important pursuit, and even believe that our happiness is God’s highest goal for us. That’s when our thinking gets confused.

God’s Word tells us that true happiness comes by keeping God’s law (Ps. 1:1-2; Prov. 16:20; 29:18). God demands holiness and has called us to live a holy life—one that exemplifies His moral character (1 Thess. 4:7; 2 Peter 3:11). In Peter’s first letter we read, "As He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy’" (1 Peter 1:15-16).

When we face decisions about the way we should act or how we should live, we must keep in mind that God’s command is not "Be happy," but "Be holy." True joy will come from a holy, God-honoring life.
