Thanks for the kudos...I tried to use the HDTV as a second monitor but the resolution wasn't good, not fine enough, it only goes up to 1024 x 768 and the iMAC wants to drive it at 1680 x 1050...

A couple of questions on that part (not that I recommend using the HDTV as a monitor because it's just too big for the limited resolution):

- Shouldn't you be getting 1366x768 out of it (that would be the 16:9 equivalent to the 1024x768)?
- I know most HDTVs don't like you jamming the computer into the HDMI/DVI slot, and they prefer the VGA. Is that an option with the iMac?

Sounds like I picked a good race to miss by catching up on "24" Season 1 with my latest addition, an up-convert Philips DVD player run through the HDMI. Maybe in a few months I'll finally spring for the surround sound system (especially since the normal tuner on the TV doesn't exactly like stereo - 'tis my only complaint).

Hey old Bean! Yeah I could go and get an DVI to HDMI cable, the HDTV has both HDMI and VGA. But the DVI output on the iMAC is a proprietary connector, so I have a DVI to VGA connection that goes to the HDTV and that's the reason for the resolution glitch...I think. Never mind, there's still plenty of room for tweaking, I can get a splitter from Apple, etc.

I only had one-half of ONE eye on the race...no dog in the hunt.
