It is illegal aliens that are most apt to vote now. The Democrats do not believe in discriminating against Illegalalian-Americans, or Dead-Americans either and in Democrat jurisdictions these classes do vote.

We need to remain clear in what we're against... Immigration is not equal to illegal. The only subscriber, thus far, who is mixing immigration with illegal activities is the HairOfTheDog account.
Perhaps using defined terms will make a difference. One is a resident alien and the other an illegal alien. Both are emigrants. Neither are immigrants.
To: Amerigomag
Ummm... emigrants are citizens who have ~left~ a country. immigrants are foreign born people who are moving in.

Giving non-citizens the vote is going way too far over the line. First we give illegals sanctuary and then start giving them constitutional rights. We give them jobs, free education for their children, free health care, free or reduced college tuition, social security, driving privileges, bank accounts, home mortgages, credit cards, rights to own and operate their own businesses, rights to enter into contracts, sue and be sued in our courts, etc. How much further is it to say they've had all these rights and privileges for so many years that they actually are here legally even though they're not legal citizens? How long will it before they say they are legal property owners, legal residents in their own homes, paying their property taxes, sales taxes, social security taxes, etc, just like legal citizens so they really are here legally and therefore deserve the right to vote? It's not that far away. Allow illegal aliens to reside here legally long enough to become property owners and they will become voting Democrats sooner than you may think.

immigrants are foreign born people who are moving in.Sorry.
There are only two classes of immigrants in the US. Naturalized US citizens and anchor babies, a special class of naturalized citizens who were born on US soil but whose parents were not under the control of the US government at the time of their birth.
All others are aliens; resident, non resident or illegal.
Words have meanings.
To: Jim Robinson
JimRob... Again, you're mixing apples and oranges. This proposal may be a bad idea, but it is not about illegals it's about legals.
To: Amerigomag
Words have meanings.I know. That's why I'm trying to be very clear. The word you used was WRONG.

Welcome to the beginning of the end.

Thanks for clarifying... Since the article isn't about illegal immigrants, it's about legal ones, who you meant by them makes a difference.
To: HairOfTheDog
I was responding to this comment by JimRob:
Do not vote for anyone who is pro illegal alien, unless you wish a permanent end to conservatism in America!
So my statement stands, and your efforts to distract from the larger issue are revealed as just that.

At this moment maybe. Tomorrow it will be about illegal aliens residing here "legally," ie, legally owning property, legally owning busnesses, legally paying taxes, etc, while not being arrested or deported by immigration authorities.

At this moment maybe.Well, if that's as close as we're going to get to agreement I'll call uncle. As fun as this is, I don't want to wear a rut running around the same tree all evening :~)

"renewed their efforts to allow legal non-citizens to vote in New York City elections. "
This is an outrage!

They already vote in California anyways, and that's how we've gotten Villaigarosa, and the end to Republican RULE in the state of California.
They're working on Texas, Arizona, all the border states.
