As Michael Waltrip says: "I don't get upset with drivers who cut me off. I just figure they need to be somewhere faster than me."

(The grammar would be "faster than I" but who's quibbling?)

The police and the judge over-reacted here. The weaver is partially responsible. The very least a person can do is stick a hand out of a window and wave to the person who let them into the line. It's just the polite thing to do.

But we're not nearly as polite a nation as we were fifty years ago.

I have the same reaction. When one of them does it to me, I always make a mental picture of a midget who set his alarm clock too late, missed it, realized he was late, hops into his gigantic car, and tries to get ahead of everyone. Pathetic little midget in a hurry, making a fool of himself, so I laugh.
