What is the difference between a moderate Republican and a liberal Republican?

A lot....one would hope. Moderate Republicans take the government checkbook out fairly often, but usually for at least a half-way good reason. Liberal Republicans can't put it away. We have a lot of Liberal Republicans in office right now but they could become more moderate if faced with long-term unemployment.
