But it was also hard to see how a man with deeply held convictions on abortion rights -- either for or against -- could take a position so calibrated and inconclusive. Listening to Romney that day was like watching a chameleon in the fleeting moment that its color changes to suit its environment. Indeed, several months later, after vetoing a bill to expand access to emergency contraception, Romney wrote in the Boston Globe about how his views on the subject had "evolved and deepened."

Evolved, indeed. During his Massachusetts races, Romney paraded his conviction that "abortion should be safe and legal in this country" and promised that "you will not see me wavering" on Roe v. Wade.

It cannot be repeated too many times that Mitt Romney is a fraud.

He's had the kind of conversion that can only come from wanting to run for president.

I feel like every GOP candidate is a fraud.

I have resolved that I am going to have a candidate in 2008 that is not going to meet all my expectations.

The Liberal MSM is really laying it on thick against Mitt Romney, an all around good guy. At this rate, he won't even make the ticket as a Veep choice.

Looks like it will be Giuliania/Jeb Bush ticket.

What's another strong ticket with Giuliani at the top? The MSM is greasing the skids for his nomination, which may not be a bad thing.

If my choice is Mitt, Rudy, or Romney, then I will take Romney. I will take someone who finally gets it right over someone who has always gotten it wrong and plans to stay that way. My ideal POTUS would be Newt or Duncan Hunter.

The Drive-By Media seems to think he could win. He's their #1 target.

My ideal POTUS would be Jeb Bush.

But since that's not a possibility, I'll take the closest thing: Mitt Romney.

All of Jeb's support staff are working for Romney now.

That's because your expectations aren't low enough.

Like it or not, if you choose Romney, you're going to get Mitt in the bargain, lol.

Romney only said what he had to to get elected in the DPRM (Democratic Peoples Republic of Massachusetts). He was a good governor and I wish him well in his run for the Whitehouse. Now we're stuck with Moonbat Deval. God have mercy on us!

In this day and age, a woman or minority would be very desirable.

Not just some name but someone who is a winner and brings something to the ticket?

Kay Bailey Hutchison?

Romney only said what he had to to get elected

As he did then, so does he now.

I want to trust him, but I can't. Too many flip-flops, all right at the moment he decided to run for President.

Now he is saying what he needs to get ahead in Republican primaries for President. If he gets the nomination, expect his views to "further evolve".

"Duncan Hines does not have a snowballs chance."

In a normal election year you'd be right. But:

1) there is no incumbent running
2) there is no former veep running (Gore is out, Cheney is out)
3) There are no formidable Governors running (Huckabee and Richardson are a bit week)
4) So you are left with a field that is essentially senators and a mayor, which already breaks the rule that senators and mayors can't win
4) The only full blooded conservatives running are Newt and Hunter, and Newt has burned us a few times.
5) The field on both sides is composed of jello spines and people that give you an uneasy feeling. There's old Crusty Pants, Julianni, OsamaObama, McInsane, the Breck Girl, the Bishop, wife deserting Newt, Biden the plagiarist, etc.

Given those five conditions, Hunter starts to look less like a dark horse and more like the last man standing.

"Romney only said what he had to to get elected in the DPRM (Democratic Peoples Republic of Massachusetts)."

Which translates "he will say what he has to to get elected president".
