More than 176,000 names removed from rolls under new database(Washington State)

OLYMPIA, Wash. Secretary of Sam Reed announced today that more than 176-thousand names were removed from the state's voting rolls last year under a new statewide voter database.

The purge of illegal registrations is the result of the new system that has consolidated all 39 separate county systems into one database in January 2006. Reed said the database has helped officials find duplicate registrations and dead voters.

Most of the names removed were duplicate voter registrations. Reed said these often happen when a voter moves across county lines, forgets to notify the local election office and then reregisters somewhere else. The next highest amount were deceased voter registrations. The database searches daily for names of deceased voters against databases from the Department of Health and the Social Security Master Death Index.

Reed said that elections officials also search for people who may have voted twice following each primary and general election. A search of the November found 61 pairs of records that appeared to be matches, but all but one pair were researched and resolved, such as cases of separate people having the same name and birth date.

One case in King County has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

What a load of bs,Thanks for nothing sam, where were you when gregoire stole the Governorship.

You may want to do your purge about a week before the 2008 elections, you might be surprised at what you find.

Standard tactic of the left -- goes all the way back to Tammany Hall. Good idea -- too bad we cannot do that on the national level...I think the number would be staggering...and the libs might lose!!! :-)

More info:

Reed said that from Jan. 1, 2006 to Dec. 31, 176,373 names were removed from the state's database of about 3.2 million registered voters:

_39,814 duplicate voter registrations. Reed said these often happen when a voter moves across county lines, forgets to notify the local election office and then reregisters somewhere else. Under the new database, screenings for duplicate registrations are automatically conducted each day, and reports of duplicate registrations are generated for the counties. The counties confirm each record before canceling the duplicate registration.

_40,105 deceased voter registrations. The database searches daily for names of deceased voters against databases from the Department of Health and the Social Security Master Death Index.

_4,500 felon voter registrations. A screening for the names of felons is conducted quarterly, using a list from the Department of Corrections to identify possible matches and notices from County Clerks to County Auditors. Potential matches generated from the Department of Corrections list receive a notification letter, giving the person 30 days to respond.

_91,954 active and inactive voter registrations, because voters move to other states or request cancellations of their voter registrations. "We're doing a good job of preventing problems," Reed said. "We really are improving the integrity of the system itself."

Reed said that he would be working with officials in California, Oregon, Idaho and Montana to see how they can all cross-check their voter rolls.

176,000 less democrat voters.

A coup d'etat ousted Governor Rossi and a low-life shyster b*tch seized power.

Now they need to do this in the Peoples Republic of Maryland.
I find it odd that there are more voters than population over 18 years old in the state.

Ya, like 120,000 new dim registrations, all at the same address and all with the same signature.

That is between 5 and 6% of registered voters. No potential for fraud there.

????

Why would a state which is controlled by the scumbag Democrats do a voter roll purge? I don't get this at all, unless some kind of deal was cut under the table wherein the feds told the state rats that a few of them might go to jail unless immediate measures of "good faith" were implemented.

This news really dropped my jaw. Not a peep from Gregoire and the scumbags about this?
Whew..... weird.

>>>Hmmmm....wonder if they will say just WHO these unlawful voters VOTED for?

That, I hope, would be impossible given that when votes are cast, they are done secretly. There should be no way to identify who the unlawful voter (One case in King County has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office) voter for. However, party affilation should be available.

Voter registration should be taken from tax roles. Pay tax, eligible to vote. Not pay tax, ineligible to vote.

I am confused.
If voters aren't required to show ID, how can they even tell that two people had the exact same name and birthdate?

I'd love to know how many of these were "active" - schmoos who actually voted in the last two elections.

On second thought, no I wouldn't - bad for the blood pressure!
