ANNABEL Catt's parents yesterday said their daughter, who died after apparently taking ecstasy at the Good Vibrations Festival, was a "beautiful girl who made a mistake".
"She wasn't a druggie," Alison Catt said with tears in her eyes. "If it can happen to her, it can happen to anyone. She was just a beautiful girl having fun and made a mistake.
"Everybody has said she would be the last person in the world you'd expect this to happen to and we'd be the last family you'd expect it to happen to."

Ooops! Repost.
Feeling go out to Mr. & Mrs. Catt, this is incredibly sad.
For some things, once can be fatal. It's not about what they normally do.
+ insisted their daughter never normally fooled around with HIV positive individuals.
+ insisted their daughter never normally drove recklessly while intoxicated.
+ insisted their daughter never normally played Russian Roulette.
Of all types of drugs, a pill could be damned near anything - A poorly made synthetic drug, a Ruffie, who knows what. For kids, they need to know, understand, and be deathly afraid that "one damned time can kill you." Whether it's the first time or 20th time is irrelevant. The only warning you're going to get is well beforehand, during is just too late.
Ya gotta be quick in this town. 8^)
Mhm.
Darn. For a moment there I thought had something to do with the British band, XTC.
Nah that would link here: www.guitargonauts.com
Sad, very sad. This is a terrible tragedy and demonstrates that parents do not always know what their children are up to.
Experimenting with drugs seems to be a right of passage for quite a few young adults- I did plenty of experimenting myself and know many others who did as well. I could wite a book on the subject, believe me. Having taken "X" twice during this phase I can say that it was not a good experience for me either time. Not smart, I know, but then again how many wise 20-somethings do you know? Luckily there seems to be no harm done (used 20 years ago), I'm still alive and functional.
Usually X is mixed or cut with other drugs/impurities during production so you never really know exactly what you are getting, how strong it is or how you will react to it. Drinking alcohol on top of X can complicate matters because you cannot distinguish the effects of alcohol over the X intoxication.
I wouldn't be so harsh.
We shouldn't assume the kid was a druggie. She could have tried it for the first time, or perhaps only done it a few times before.
Yeah. She shouldn't have. But kids DO things they shouldn't. They drive fast on curvy roads. They hang upside down by their legs 15 feet off the ground. Kids can do dumb things. It sometimes amazes me any of us make it to adulthood.
Condolences to her family. She is a kid who never got to learn from her mistakes. How many of us got that chance?
What an awful tragedy. Losing a child has got to be one of the worst things that can happen to a person.
I wonder what would happen if every death attributed in part to overconsumption of acetaminophen (tylenol, et al) were given a newspaper article?

Hmmmm... someone you and I once knew??? :-)
Yup, having a sixteen daughter will do it.
I am repelled by the thought that the same criterion would allow us to see Britney Spears also as a "beautiful person" who doesn't seem to be aware what a "mistake" is...
I sympathize for this family, and their need to find solace and peace, but denial is no help whatsoever.
