I found the following report out of Hartford Connecticut after searching for the story on the internet. They even quote a Hartford police officer. Parallel universe or journalism at its best?

HARTFORD, Conn. -- A man is in a hospital in serious condition Sunday morning, and a cab driver is behind bars after he allegedly ran over the man, police said.
Police said the victim and his friend were passengers in the cab.
After getting dropped off near Vanderbilt Place, the cab driver allegedly drove his United Cab Minivan toward the men, hitting one of them, police said.
Police said during the ride, the three men had gotten into an argument over religion.
"Apparently, all three persons were of different religious faiths, and they became involved in a heated discussion about their religions. And apparently, one was offended, and the other became offended, and the argument escalated from there. And that's what precipitated the event here," Hartford Police officer John Pepper.
The driver is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and driving with stolen tags, police said.
