According to NASA's mean temperature records, the earth has heated up .7 degrees F since 1910. When is the last time you heard the weatherman quote temperatures to the hundredth degree?
If it's man made global warming, we will have to get our CO2 level down to the pre-1900 according to NASA's records.

I'm pretty sure that NASA uses Celsius and that its about 1 degree C or 1.8 degrees F between 1900 and 2006. But your basic point is good - this is a small change - we can afford to take 5-10 years to see if the trend continues while we work on research - we don't need to do anything drastic to the economy.
