Last night we welcomed Congressman Duncan Hunter, (R-CA), to Pundit Review Radio. Rep. Hunter is one of the leading conservative candidates running for President.
Rep. Hunter was incredibly generous with his time, spending more than 30 minutes with us discussing a wide range of topics. Of course, we asked him about the anti-surge, non-binding resolution that was passed this weekend. He had some pointed criticism of his colleagues, and questioned how much they understood about the surge, from a tactical level. According to the Rep. Hunter, it is all about politics, and has little to do with the surge itself.
We also talked about immigration, as Hunter has one of the toughest stances on this issue in Congress. He spoke of the fence that runs along the San Diego border and how effective it has been. We also asked him what should be done about the Border Agents who have been thrown in jail for a dozen years for shooting a drug smuggler. We took some great calls from WRKO listeners who asked what separated Hunter from the leaders in the GOP race, like McCain, Rudy and Romney.
My favorite part of the interview was when Rep. Hunter opened up about his own family, he talked eloquently about his father and how the call to military service was passed to him, and now, on to his son. Speaking of his son, Congressman Hunter told a great story about his sons decision to join the military on 9-11, it is incredibly inspirational.
This guy is solid and deserves strong consideration for your vote for president in the Republican primaries. To learn more about his campaign, click here. We look forward to having him back on Pundit Review Radio as the campaign heats up in the coming weeks.
This interview is also available for download at iTunes and Podcast Alley.

Being active in the primaries is the only way conservatives are going to rid the parties of fakes and thieves ... we show our interest by being active in the nomination process. Politicians do notice that ...
You're simply naive, you clearly do not know much about Duncan Hunter and Duke Cunningham's relationship.
They we BEST FRIENDS !!!!
Can you read - best friends.
So all of the sudden Duke Cunningham is driving a Rolls Royce and you don't think his buddy is curious where the money came from.
Please !!!
Equine feces.
Rudy has zero experience with the military.
Strike one.
Rudy intends to disarm the unorganized militia,
Rudy has a weak position on border control, the primary means by which our enemy enters this country to commit acts of terrorism.
That's strike three, turkey.
Put up links. The recently-indicted donor that bribed Cunningham also gave money to Hunter. And to President Bush. Wanna say, using that same logic, that Bush is tangled up in the Cunningham fiasco as well?
What?
Moderates don't win the presidency for the GOP. Center-rightists do.
You are clueless. The Dems will form 527-type groups to do the dirty work for them. And Rudy's liberal past gives them hammers to hit him with.
Read one more link Scooter - #63.
If you doubt Duncan Hunter ties in this matter - contact anyone who lives in San Diego - or do a little research..
I'm not making accusations - these are well know facts..
Taken from the USA Today - November of 2005
WASHINGTON A San Diego businessman under investigation in the bribery case of former congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham is a well-known GOP fundraiser whose generosity to key members of Congress came at the same time his company saw large increases in its government contracts, public records show.
Brent Wilkes, the founder of defense contractor ADCS Inc., gave more than $840,000 in contributions to 32 House members or candidates, campaign-finance records show. He flew Republican lawmakers on his private jet and hired lobbyists with close ties to those lawmakers.
Since 1994, Wilkes and ADCS gave $40,700 in campaign contributions to Rep. Duncan Hunter, a San Diego Republican who now chairs the House Armed Services Committee. Hunter has acknowledged that he joined with Cunningham in 1999 to contact Pentagon officials who reversed a decision and gave ADCS one of its first big contracts, for nearly $10 million. Hunter's spokesman, Joe Kasper, said the congressman was unavailable for comment Tuesday.
Wilkes' ties to Hunter and Cunningham go beyond campaign contributions. In 2003, the businessman's foundation hosted a "Salute to Heroes" gala to give Hunter an award, just as it did for Cunningham a year earlier. The Wilkes Foundation gave $1,000 in 2003 to a charity run by two of Hunter's staffers, records show.
Wilkes also provided a jet that Cunningham and other Republicans used for more than a dozen flights to campaign fundraising events since 2001, records show.
Providing flights gives donors a chance for hours of one-on-one contact with the lawmaker they want to influence, said Keith Ashdown of the watchdog group Taxpayers for Common Sense.
"Most other lobbyists would give up their second lung to get that kind of access," Ashdown said. "It's not always illegal, but it's definitely a strategy of influence that's unparalleled."

Listened to the whole Pundit Review interview and am impressed.
Waiting for the chorus of folks who say ,"He can't win"! Same about Ron Paul, Newt, etc.
Why can't folks just back someone and charge ahead with their "winner".
Ain't a horse race where people try to bet on a winner.
They'e Got to HELP him win!
It sucks when someone votes for "the poll winner" instead of the one they REALLY think can LEAD this country. Only have to look at Congress to see that.
(/GRRRRR!)
"I just don't think he [Hunter] has a prayer."
Yes, it's all over, the election is tomorrow, and we have no choice but Hillary and Rudy. And you don't want Hillary, do you? /sarc
Such defeatism. Remember that speech Winston Churchill made in the darkest hours of WWII, about fighting them on the beaches, fighting them in the fields, etc., and never surrenderin? It's time for all the real conservatives to pick your favorite conservative candidate and start backing him NOW, not get on the Rudy bandwagon which the Leftmedia has prepared for us.
Lunch break's over. Thanks for posting this, it's a great interview. Bookmarked to listen to again this evening. Thanks again.
Can you read !!!
Again - I like Duncan Hunter - but facts are facts - and this stuff will surface (again) down stream.
So Duncan Hunter's best friend, and fellow congressman is suddenly driving around in a Rolls - and he knows nothing about it?
Man of man !!!!!!!
It is not illegal to take campaign contributions. It is illegal to do such as a quid pro quo.
So once again, if you can show actual wrongdoing on the part of Hunter, I'd like to see it. Otherwise, please go back to denying Rudy is a gun grabber after being confronted with clear evidence to the contrary.
I think they are trying the B-leaguers out her.
Dirtboy....
Oh my oh my - our party is truly diverse - by evidence of your very presence.
Good luck to you and your candidate .....
Facts are facts ... but all you throw around is innuendo. You're transparent, dude.
