Ask southern Christian conservatives what the #1 issue is and I'll wager they'll say "the war on terror". And the #1 need in this nation: leadership. That's why Rudy will do fine in the primaries. And with California and New Jersey moving up to Feb. 5, 2008, Rudy will be well positioned in the early primaries. JMHO, of course.

I've been up in NYC and if Federal Law had not forbidden me to do so I would have carried. Since I couldn't my fuel and meals were purchased usually in Allentown, PA. I didn't stop in NYC unless my load destination was there. But as for concerns down south? Number 1? Stopping Abortions. Number 2? Illegals namely the ones taking our local jobs and lowering the already low wages. Number 3? Guns! Don't even try it Rudy. It is as important to us as the first two. Number 4? Stopping Political Corruption. Number 5? Likely putting prayer and the 10 Commandments back in school.

So what about the W.O.T. Come down and try one of us. Except for western rancher states likely more guns per home than any other part of the nation. That is true Tax Payer Funded Homeland Security and it actually works.

People think 9/11 was a first and that up till then this was never attempted before? Yes it actually was tried before. In the 1970's but the politicians hope you forget or don't remember so they can keep scaring you into submission. Again don't try it Rudy or GOP.

What I have a problem with are the "my-way-or-the-highway" anti Rudy-bots, who say that if he gets the nomination they'll stick their heads in the sand and not vote.

So far it's only McCain that truly brings out that feeling in me. But that egotistical backstabber is in a category all by himself.

As for both Rudy and Romney, I'm suspicious of any R that got themselves elected in the liberal hellholes like New York City and Massachusetts. They didn't get there by being conservatives. They got there by compromising conservative principals.

Many core Christian Conservatives - as does this one - might ultimately conclude if Rudy is the best the GOP offers them, their adherence/obedience to biblical principle (on abortion and SSM) is hands down more important than party loyalty and weighing four years of a GOP loss over idiotic politics which would amount to their conscientious abandonment of obedience they will decide, "The Lord WILL provide for the faithful."

"As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God."

Some things just are beyond politics, they shape the person. Some things aren't worth compromise as any will only lead to defeat. I would like to think more regard their principles more highly than to sell out for a false sense of "winning". If I'm wrong, maybe my political affiliation is no longer where it ought to be.

No, it was your "educate yourself" and then linking me to an OPINION piece.

I can link you to a gazillion opinion pieces that tell a different story about Rudy but it's still opinion, and you're still acting like I should follow YOURS or Mark Levins. LOL

I'm not arguing what he did for NYC or denying he did good things.

My comment (that you posted to) was about the 2A and the fact that my husband would not vote for Rudy in the primarys or the general election on that issue alone.

neither will many out here in the West. Even liberals carry here.

Take it up with him. I was just stating a fact:-)

Got a problem with it, fine. That is how my husband feels and he will not vote for a gun grabber.

I have made a huge effort to never post to you, i would appreciate the same.

Agreed. And some people on here will never understand that.

"Rudy would beat Hillary by 15% at the least. Hillary is virtually unelectable. She starts with 49% of the voting population (not likely voters, mind you, but possible voters) firmly aligned against her. So, she will have to hold her base, even the greens, and convinve 99% of the undecideds to vote for her. Impossible."

Rudy would lose in a landslide just barely edging out total third party voters. Hillary could win with 42%.
20-30% of Republican voters will be MIA, either home or third party.

Sweetie, you don't seem to realize that we are not having a race between Hillary and Rudy.

We haven't even had the primaries, yet. (banging head against wall)

This place took down Dan Rather. Now it couldn't take down Daffy Duck.

If Daffy forges documents on our guy, I'm confident we can blow it wide open.

The Rudy threads are already getting redundant. I'm eager to see, if he should happen to win the primary, what we'll be talking about here then.

Well, the religion that Rudy and I practice declares abortion a grave and evil sin. Since Rudy practices some form of apostate Catholicism I'll be practicing what we preach and not voting for Rudy for anything.
