*I saw D'Souza on C-SPAN defending his book's thesis. I thought the idea American should make an alliance with "traditional muslims" was, ah, um, unconvincing :)

The problem with his idea is that Islam is no different from the worst radicals to the least offending Muslim. The radicals have only tweaked Islam a tiny bit.

Islam cannot BE negotiated with, compromised with, accepted by freedom lovers anywhere, OR made an ally until it undergoes a reformation of its own similar to what Christianity underwent.

Until Islam comes into the 22nd century, it is a cancer to civilization.

It would truly be nice if there were some Muslims SOMEWHERE that could help bring a reconciliation between civilization and the religion. But, thus far, they do not seem to exist.

Just what we need is another book that tries to convince us that Islam is our friend and we can live in peace together.
From the article a snippet we need to shoot down right away.
"It is not surprising that D’Souza supported this deal, which would have turned over operation of six American ports to a UAE company"

The deal happened anyhow because nobody could reinburse the UAE the amount of money they had invested in the contract. Dubai Ports has been granted a temporary operating order until their contract has been bought out.

We have been misled. The Dubai Port deal has not been blocked. It just went underground for awhile. None of the players have been removed from contention. People lose their focus so fast on these destructive security issues it is astounding.
No wonder our government has a runaway policy. Very few things stay in the spotlight because the MSM is able to regulate what is in todays news, and overshadow yesterdays news with the death of Anna Nichole or American Idol.

Can anyone say "informed idiots?"

Islam does not desire "allies", "friends" or "partners" , only slaves.

Dinesh may be off on this but I believe he loves the USA and is basically a conservative Christian.

The only option is to get them to accept a watered down version of Islam, "our" Islam.

Fat chance of that, let's start the Crusade II already.

Crusade II, This Time We Finish The Job:

Appearing on TV's everywhere (I hope)

I have read a couple of D'Souza's books. He is a very good writer and makes a convincing case. I suggest reading this book before coming to any conclusions.

Yea, his "brother" could act. If we really had a President like that, during a crisis like that, I'd jump out the nearest window! This whole season is just stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I think, and I hate to use this term, it's Jumped the Shark.

The final straw was when Jack said his brother didn't deserve to die. HELLO? He was instrumental in the death of 1000's of innocent people INCLUDING a former President of the United States. Jack has killed people for a heck of alot less. When he said that, well...I just tuned out.

"Until Islam comes into the 22nd century, it is a cancer to civilization"

Agreed. The Middle East was once the "cradle of civilization" that featured the pinnacle of humanity's accomplishments in science, law(Hammurabi), philosophy, etc. But since the false "profit", Mohammed appeared on the scene in 622, the region has been an inconsequential backwater of little or no accomplishment......until Americans showed them how to extract a black liquid from beneath their feet.

This is a good thread to once again post my favorite quote about the "effects" of Islam.......noticed 108 years ago by a 24 year old Winston Churchill. Nothing's changed.

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.

-- Sir Winston Churchill (The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pages 248-50 [London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1899]).

D'Souza is a good guy. But I think he's just too optimistic in his
suggestions.

I know it's cynical, but making temporary alliances with some
Muslims is probably the best approach.
Because that's the way Islam works.

Heck, even George Washington was realistic about how alliances were
temporary arrangements; entered into for advantage and then ended
when a goal has been accomplished or the other party becomes a
real pain in the derriere.

Islam cannot BE negotiated with, compromised with, accepted by freedom lovers anywhere, OR made an ally until it undergoes a reformation of its own similar to what Christianity underwent.

*Islam can not be reformed. For Islam, reformation is death.

Until Islam comes into the 22nd century, it is a cancer to civilization.

*It has been a cancer. It is a cancer. It will be a cancer.

It would truly be nice if there were some Muslims SOMEWHERE that could help bring a reconciliation between civilization and the religion. But, thus far, they do not seem to exist.

*On page 68, in Onward Muslim Soldiers, Robert Spencer quotes Muslim writer A.L. Tibawi, " "Perceptible reform" cannot be affected in the doctrines of the faith without diminishing or cancelling their validity.

I have read several of Spencer's books. I have read other books about Islam by Bat Ye'or. They are right. D'Souza wrong.

Well, the important things is that the Muslims are just useful idiots being used by the evil white man. Hollywood stays true to its Doctrines - even though 24's Producers hang-out with Rush as his Palm Beach Estate :)

I know it's cynical, but making temporary alliances with some Muslims is probably the best approach. Because that's the way Islam works.

In the fourteenth century, the Byzantine Emperor John VI Cantacuzenes entered into an alliance with the Ottoman Turks, whom he invited into Europe to help him win a dynastic dispute. In the fifteenth century, the Ottomans seized Constantinople and destroyed the Byzantine Empire, and were greatly aided in doing so by having a base in Europe.

*Europe made deals for oil with the Arab League. Included in the deal were provisions for Muslim immigration into the heart of Europe. So, Europe, how's that working out for ya?

No. The C-SPAN interview was quite enough for me.

Even without that, I have read enough about Islam to know he is dead wrong..and I mean the word dead literally
