If France had contested the re-militarization of the Rhineland there would not have been a Munich. Munich stands as a symbol, not merely a concrete episode. Nevertheless, there was no doubt among western observors at the time that Germany was the signal threat to europe. You may see it differently from the Polish point of view but to the west there were only two positions: denial, and alarm about Germany. If France and Britain had stood firm against Hitler in Munich, it would have cost them nothing more than what they paid anyway, the history that followed would have been very different, and likely more advantageous for all.

Poland by the way was quite content with Munich as it later sought to share in the spoils when the rest of Czechoslovakia was dismembered. No doubt you are aware of that however.

There was a tiny piece of territory Czechs took from Poland (when Poland was fighting against Bolsheviks) because it had a few miles of railroad. Yes, Poland took it back.

And what would you do? Declare war on Germany?
