Coleman was literally handed that seat. Wellstone was going to defeat him before he was tragically killed and then the Dems committed one of the biggest political blunders ever at his memorial service.

I don't care if Al Franken's in the Senate. I've got freaking al-Ellison for a Congressman, an empty skirt for a senator, before that I had a glassy-eyed drug addict for a senator, and I have a 3-stadium-promoting governor who's been sucking up to McLame for two years. Normoron has sealed his fate. He's a one-termer and should not even expect to survive a primary challenge. He'll be able to hold his campaign rallies in a phone booth.

I would like to see Al Franken in the Senate. Next to Kennedy and Byrd. And Mrs. Clinton yelling at them all.

If you are familar with the Washington novels of Allen Drury, you'll understand why I would refer to Senator Al Franken as "Jawbone".
