Actually, I've thought of this on a different level. First, I don't believe democrats are anti-war, they are just anti-war if it might make a Republican Commander in Chief popular. The dim media machine does a daily dismantling of any good news while trumpeting the slightest whisper of bad news, vis a vis the war effort.

Conversely, with a dim in power, the press would only report success and downplay failure. Republicans, being patriotic, would also support the war effort.

Thus, and only thus, I am afraid, do we present a united face to our foreign enemies.

I know it's convoluted but it may be the only way to get the country massively behind what it might take to actually win.

there won't be a "war effort" at all. unless you call shooting a few Taliban every month in afghanistan, a "war".

Democrats don't want to win, they just want to get and maintain power.

Get real man! defeatists and traitors are always defeatists and traitors whether they have power or not, whether they have the Congress or not, whether they have the Presidency or not. The traitors and defeatists in the democrats party will stop the fight the moment they take power.

You weren't an adult, or interested in politics much, when LBJ was president...yes?

so let me get this straight - we can only generate support for any war when the media is on board. and because the media is liberally biased, the "price of admission" to getting the media on board, is to turn over the entire apparatus of government to the liberals.

is that it? sorry, I can't accept the deal.

You mean it might get Conservatives to actually shut up long enough to find out they ARE winning the War right now rather then, as they do every day now, mindlessly regurgitate the rabid stupidity about Iraq spoon fed them as "news" by both sides of the US Junk Media?
