TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida Elections Commission dropped all charges and potential fines Friday against former Broward County elections supervisor Miriam Oliphant, ending a four-year saga stemming from a botched primary.
Oliphant was suspended from office by then-Gov. Jeb Bush after the 2002 primary, when nearly two dozen polls opened late.

Right, well I guess it's not "willful" if you are a) an airhead who happens to be a minority electee in a predominantly Democratic county, b) allowed to indulge in cronyism and to successfully harass experienced non-minority workers into quitting, and c) spread that budget around to all the dear people who got you, with zero capability, such a cushy job.
(And her successor's doing a bang-up job: we got new voter reg cards for the 2006 election -- with just a minor problem: they had someone's else's names and addresses on them.)
She is a Democrat, female and black...enough said!
