The Senate vote was FOR CLOTURE which if successful, would have STOPPED debate and allowed the Senate Democrats to ramrod the House Bill through to a final vote. Since the cloture motion FAILED, debate CAN CONTINUE. The caption on C-Span 2 is EXACTLY BACKWARDS, demonstrating either sheer incompetence (at best) or rank partisan hackery (at worst). Take your pick.

Most people cannot fathom how the Senate and House operate. Televising the proceedings has been an eye opener for many citizens. I often wonder just how some of these people get elected.

This is too easy.

The latter, of course.

But it isn't only C-Span that does it.

Of course not. But it's all the more sriking because when it comes to politics, C-Span is supposed to get it RIGHT (if no other news outfit does)

Seven RINOS voted with the Dems and Ten Republicans were not present. Reid pulled a sneak attack... but the Dems did not get the 60 they needed.

The whole point of the Senate (apparently) is endless debate.

They did not prevent debate. In fact, they can go on debating forever.

What they rejected was a vote on only 1 resolution when there are 3 viable resolutions before them.

The House and Senate, like the UN, have become irrelevant. They do not stand on their principles because they obviously have none. When they were in the leadership, look what they did. They had worthless leadership who capitulated on everything. They seem to have lost their courage of conviction the minute they passed over the state line of DC.

Our President has been standing almost alone on every issue. We the People elected him twice and want him to continue prosecuting this war. Not the House or the Senate. His own party and many of you reading this post have turned their backs are ready to accept defeat. NOT ME! I am ashamed of their performance. Brownback is one of my senators and he has been a real disappointment! Mr. Newt has my vote if he runs. If not, I will pick the best leader for the times. That is a war president. I don’t care what he’s done in the past with respect to his personal life. Hopefully it will make him a better leader. I want a MAN with balls enough to stand against the Congress when he is right.

You and I know these things, but apparently C-SPAN DOESN'T.

Television celebrities often go out among the average joes and ask questions of them. Often times it is pictures of elected officials trying to see if people can identify them.

I would like to see the likes of folks from Sean Hannity to Jay Leno go out in the streets with a microphone and ask people what cloture means and what a cloture vote represents. Then present this LIE, as exampled here, being prepatrated by the likes of Cspan to the New York Times to the Houses of Congress themselves.

See what the people have to say when they are shown the uncensored truth in no uncertain or spun terms.
