"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear." Marcus Tullius Cicero
What more can be said????
Except, perhaps, a rereading of President Washington's Farewell Address, with its warnings of the dangers of what he called the "spirit of party".

Damn - the headline alone is enough to buy a subscription - in Dallas even.

Do you honestly think everybody in and around NYC/NJ is a liberal ?????
This is the region that helped turn Rush, Sean, Marc Levin, Bob Grant etc. into radio icons.
There are plenty of Conservatives here, we're just a bit (ok quite a bit) outnumbered.

And .. you would be WRONG!
"... giving aid and comfort to the enemy ..." is part of the charge of treason.
This vote HAS DONE JUST THAT!!

OH? Then give us the "legal" definition.

Except, perhaps, a rereading of President Washington's Farewell Address, with its warnings of the dangers of what he called the "spirit of party".Yes, let's shall we?
The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.
or should we just jump to the section of the speech on foreign affairs? If anything Washington (along with many of the other Framers) would see no problem in this vote. Questioning of one branch by the others on all things is what is intended to keep them in check
