To the contrary, the Rockefeller Wing of the party is trying, as it always does, to grab the wheel and lurch the bus leftward right into the path of oncoming Democrats. We're just trying to stay in our lane to avoid a political catastrophe.

The debacle last year should have told everyone that the catastrophe already happened. To put up a candidate that is acceptable to the RR would continue that catastrophe for another 8 years at least. Most Americans are not tuned in to the RR and its agenda any more.

I suppose that is technically true depending on how you look at the numbers. 42% of voters still go to church at least once a week. And of that, 80% vote Republican. Have fun when you run the RR, which is actually a group that could be considered larger than that, out of the party.
