This article is a biggest load of crap I've read in quite some time. The 06 elections were nothing more than the American people showing their dissatisfaction with the progress of the war in Iraq, Period.
Some success there and watch how the attitude of the electorate reverts to form.
Seems that way to me too. But evidently there was an undercurrent of distaste for everything the reigning GOP stood for, including social conservatism. I can't otherwise explain the contempt so many people ON THE RIGHT are now expressing for those of us who oppose abortion and the gay agenda.
It is still my belief that the American people were showing their dissatisfaction with the progress of the Republican Congress. If the Republicans in the Senate and House had stood up to the Democrats and had done a better job they would still be in the majority. Not standing up to the Dims just invited more partisan attacks and let them set the agenda.
