If the President had supported the majority of Republicans on its enforcement first approach to illegal immigration, we would still have a Rep Congress. Loyalty begets loyalty.
(Ref my post #40)
Being loyal begets loyalty
that was the point I was trying to impress. Thank you.
Republican Representative Inglis's joining them is shameful. Here's an overweening bit from the representative's website: “My concern about another surge is that it will only delay the day that Iraqis make the political decisions necessary to quell the sectarian violence,” Inglis said. “They’ve got to divide up the oil fairly, let the banned Baathists back into positions of public trust and come up with a working model of pluralism. I want all Iraqi factions to know that they don’t have forever to make these decisions. We’re providing their protection; we have a right to tell them to hurry. We have an obligation to our service men and women to tell the Iraqi factions to hurry.”
Representative Inglis is forgetting his place. He is not in charge of foreign policy for the United States. Worse, he is joining with the Democrats who intend to use his Congressional responsibility for the power of the purse to destroy our military, to cause us to cut and run.
I hope that South Carolinians in the Upstate can remove this congressman in the next election.
What is Gilchrist like on most issues? As a Republican in Maryland he would get no publicity on anything of a conservative nature that he would support, so I as a Republican in Maryland no nothing about him except his party designation.
Here are the names of the 17 Republicans voted against the surge and the troops.
It seems that the Capitol email system has changed so that spam emails cannot be sent to many Congressmen at once. Each representative has a link on his/her own webpage for email. I never heard any news about this change, but I cannot fault the logic of the change. The Moveon types were much more aggressive about the blast faxing and emailing than any conservative groups have been.
Oops! 'no nothing' = 'know nothing'
All hail Commandantera Pelosi!
Would like these people to stand and be counted. Perhaps some Repubs could design a 'pin' they could wear. . .a bumper or window decal they might like to put on their car; to show every other American how proud they are .
Perhaps a small American flag - with a black line through it. . .or the same, with the a message - something like -
Think these should be first offered first to all our Congresssmen - and Senator's, who 'so voted'. . . and then made available to all those who used to display 'Support Our Troop's' stickers; but who now have changed their mind.
Any Dem's or Rino's or 'whomevers' reading this; who think this is an appealing idea; and/or might have some better ideas on how to really 'show' America where you stand; let's hear it. . .
The congress that al-Qaida wanted and got has already begun to pay dividends.
