The House disgraced itself yesterday and proved more conclusively than before that they aren't fit representatives of their people.

Who were the 17 "republicans" that joined Pelosi in this pro-enemy vote?

A disgrace, if not outright treason.

It's a disgrace, but will effect absolutely NOTHING!

Bush will increase the troops, and all the DBM/dems, rino's can go straight to hades!

Let the Ron Paul supporters defend their man.

I sure won't.

"Never before in our history has Congress attempted to control or restrict strategic battlefield decisions. It is wrong as a matter of policy, and it will haunt us for years to come," said King - as the House of Representatives dishonored itself with a non-binding resolution expressing disapproval of President Bush's strategic plan for Iraq.

At least arguably inaccurate. During the Mexican War, the House of Representatives passed a resolution stating that the war with Mexico had been "unnecessary and unconstitutionally commenced by the President." Hard to see a great deal of difference between the two resolutions.

Although it looks like the Mexican War opponents had more guts. It is also relevant that there were many new members of this House who had been elected on their opposition to the war. It wasn't like today's situation, where many of those individuals who voted for the war are now its leading opponents.

I'm fuming. I'll be calling Upton in Michigan first and then I'll start on the rest. Everyone should do the same and send this list to as many people as possible. This is disgraceful and If the Dems win on this front............well it's scary to think of the outcome in this day and age. Post Vietnam will be a stroll in the park compared to what we're going to witness if the anti war movement gets their way on this. I expect the rubbish that comes from the likes of Murtha and Pelosi, but these so called republicans need to be punished and thrown out (at the ballot box and a constant barrage of calls, mail and email from their constituents). Still fuming.

But then, never before in our history has the US been a socialist country or a dhimmi territory. The idiots now in charge of our government want to surrender us to any outside force that could threaten a scout troop or defeat a church choir.

That's where your wrong. It may not effect it in the short term, the troops are already there. But the long term is terrible. It sends a signal to our troops that Congress is not behind them; it sends a signal to the terrorists that they can succeed at breaking the will of America if they just wait us out; it sends a signal to the world that America is not to be relied upon to win a war....

I'd say that there is a pretty bad effect.

This is a lot of BS. Congress can only cut funds, they can't micromanage the strategy. The new plan has already started and it seems to be working. We will win the war over there but lose it over here. Even if it works, the Dems will never admit it. They would rather Bush fail and the US look weak. Dems remind me of spoiled brats that don't like authority. It's payback time for them, and as usual, they picked the wrong side of the fight. History will be the judge.

I guess Latourette's vote brings new meaning to "Sending Thanks to the Troops".

You would expect a supporter of this to issue a similar comment that Murtha made. Not a traitor.

Unreal.

If these Congress critters acted this way in the 1860s, Lincoln would have probably had them jailed.

He would have had them shipped to Gitmo.

I called all 17 yesterday afternoon and told each of their staff that I would be supporting ANYONE who runs against them in a primary and that their vote was in support of the enemy and against our troops. The staffers were nothappy with my comments. I also called the two democrats who voted against this stupiditiy and thanked them for supporting our troops. Their staffers were both surprised that I would call (as I told them I was a republican) and appreciated that I did. So when you call the 17 republican traitors, make sure you call the two democrat patriots as well.
