Would a sub note book be a good fit as far as portability is concerned and ease of use considering I am now on dial up and Windows 98?

If you are a senior citizen, I would bet that the small size of a sub notebook's monitor/screen would drive you nuts. My mother has a small notebook (Sony Vaio) and it is so small it drive me nuts. Maybe you'd want to get an iMac or a Mac Mini with a big monitor.

Thank you. I have a BIG monitor on my desktop and I love it. It's just that our home office is down some steep steps and I'd like to have the ability to use the computer on the main level of our house.

Daughter has a Sony Vaio full sized lap top and it's not too bad on my eyes but the price is a bit much right now.

The last thing I want to do is make a mistake.

You've been a big help, much appreciated.
