He said his grass roots movement encourages stations that sign on to TFO to purchase their oil from Sinclair Oil CorporationI get a huge kick of buying Sinclair gas just because of their dinosaur logo. It's kinda like the picture on a can of vegetables that shows you exactly what you're buying.

That is some good marketing. If they did the 'Mohamed with the bomb in his turban' as a logo also it would be better. :)

This is a feel good plan, but Sinclair Oil buys oil from the Global Petroleum Commodity market too. I support the idea but it doesn't work.

Good marketing, but lousy economics.
Petroleum is a rather fungible commodity. It is pretty much one market. What you do buy someone else won't. What you don't buy, someone else will. So the terrorists will get their money anyway.
This is also the reason why US "energy independence" is a silly idea.

How many times must we go through this? First, there is no way to know that there is no middle east oil in there. It all goes into the same pipelines, refineries, etc.
Even if you could, it still wouldn't do anything. Since oil is so fungible, somebody else would buy it and inject it into the system.

Include me! But alas I live on the Left coast in Lost Angeles, CA, where Hugo Chavez' supporters are as numerous as the Che Guevarra t-shirts sold everywhere including the street corner. But we can give it a go!

I like the idea but in concept wont work. Like the milk in the container in your fridge, it comes from many different cows by the time it got to you. The gas in every gas station's tanks comes from all over the world.
