The paper may be trying to sell Romney subliminally to the vast majority of its readership who might not otherwise know .. or need reminding .. about his religious affiliation.
(2) Abuses women? Check.
(3) Murders unarmed innocent strangers like a sniveling coward? Check.
Koran implementation? Successful.
And a Muslim of course. Now we have the knife as his weapon of choice, and it's checkmate.
That's what I think. I think we have a kid who was emotionally traumatized by being in Bosnia during the the war there, coming to Utah, having a troubled adolescence, ane when he decided on suicide by cop, he does it in a cross between the Matrix and Jihadi.
If his family is going around saying how nice he was, it's probably because 1) they are somewhat in denial mode, 2) he probably acted nice a lot around his family, 3) they didn't realize how deep his misery was.
I would be very interested to know what was happening in his school relationships. Did the kids see him as quiet and a loner? Did he have a reputation as a bully, or was scared of being seen as a poser?
Sometimes, non-Mormon kids in Utah schools hang out in groups that can get them into more trouble because they don't want to be seen as "goody-goody" and that leads to other problems (they are often joined by Mormon kids in rebellion, too, for that matter.)
Many questions in the back of my mind, based on my experience of getting a troubled teen (who got traumatized at about the same age that this young man left Bosnia) through the Utah school system.
The question can be "How do we keep troubled kids from thinking these things are cool?"

I just think there's a difference between actually immersing oneself in the religion of pieces and looking for an excuse to exhibit your violent tendencies.
In this case it appears more like some gang wannabe attempting to impress the homies than a one man sleeper cell. I never SAID the kid was "peaceful"....only that unless there's some definitive proof or more nefarious connections it's just one MORE twisted youth with no future attempting to make as many people as possible miserable on his way out.
In FACT, I think this punk would most likely be jumping for joy if he could read the majority of the responses I've seen on this site. After all....it's not exclusively "terrorism territory" for muslims.

What I DON'T "get" is how both the Chapel Hill and Fremont/San Francisco, and Seattle women's shooting incidents were DEFINITELY declared to be done "for allah" by the perpetrators.....and STILL there's denial on the part of the government.
I'm just curious.....I wonder how many people have been gunned down in gang violence in LA, ChiTown, Nawlins, etc. since Valentines Day....???

There's also the possibility his father was violent...but only in the home...I think this kid was way more screwed up than anyone imagined and was probably NOT getting it on with the girlies, by force or otherwise....an outcast of some sort with a violent chip on his shoulder.
I'm NOT excusing his acts in any way....I just don't think it's AUTOMATIC that all muslims are presumed guilty until lynched.

The first thing the media found was a female family member who said" We don't know why he did this. He was such a good boy".

I keep thinking of the fact that his victims were found in a Hallmark store on Valentine's Day after that slew of articles and proclamations of the evil inherent in that holiday by the Imans.
Was this a crime of opportunity? Or a Jihad/hate crime?
