Chilling stuff. I think this will encourage more citizens to accept their responsibility to carry.

"I saw the shooter go down..."

He's in Hell, now.

I hope you're right but I fear it's going to lead to more calls for gun control. Most people just can't accept responsibility for their own safety and well being. It's much easier to blame the gun and penalize law abiding citizens than to come to grips with the fact that there are scum bags like this perp out there who wish to do us harm and that the cops can't be everywhere all the time to protect us.

McCarthy is already citing it as a reason for another AW ban even though the perp didn't use an assault weapon and was in a "gun free" zone.

What is the law out there on CCW?

No Kidding. People hiding behind cloths racks and tables and one crazy asshole with a shotgun. How many times did he reload - what's the effective kill range?? Nothing that couldn't have been prevented if someone had the balls and a .357. Makes me sick.

The damned libs won't see it that way. I'm going to carry, law or no law. I spent 3 weeks in NYC back in the early 60s, with a .357 double derringer in my boot top, I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I sure was glad to see that Hellhole in the rearview mirror.

This has been a near daily occurrence in Isreal for years. With the Democraticks in power we're just going to have to get used to it.

I believe there's another assault weapons ban bill going through Congress right now.

Yeah, and it better stall out in the Whitehouse, if it gets that far.

Let's make sure it doesn't get there because W consistently said he would sign the previous one if they had sent it to him.

My point in bringing it up here is that the Democraticks want to disarm the citizens just as the danger of Islamo-nazi attacks is increasing. At the same time they want to withdraw from the WOT and have it follow us home.

"He said he got a good look at the gunman and watched as the gunman reloaded several times and shot.
"I was trying to find something to throw at him [the gunman]," Dodds said. "

....carry....???

Perhaps, but NEVER take a trash can to a shotgun fight...

There is. It's being sponsored by McCarthy. She does this every year but this is the first time we've had a dem controlled Congress so chances are it will get out of committee. Some people don't take this seriously and you will here stuff like "gun control is a losing issue" and "the blue dog dems wont go for it" and "the dems aren't stupid enough to repeat the mistakes of 94". In my opinion, that's dangerous thinking. They have to placate their base and people like the Brady Bunch and misinformed sheeple who know nothing about guns and lack common sense. The so-called conservative dems will fall in line while trying to protect themselves by doing photo ops while duck hunting and talking about how "no one needs an AK-47 to hunt deer."

In short, by as much as you can while you can before the dems start outlawing everything.

Are there no men left in America? Even if you were unarmed (bad idea, that) you could still disarm a man with a shotgun who needs to reload. A couple of men with no particular talent or skill working together could have done the trick.

I was just wondering, "where were the armed citizens?" I thought Utah was pretty liberal (in the good sense) about CC laws. Of course, not living there, my information may be erroneous or dated.

How was it a gun free zone?

Can businesses in Utah declare "no concealed carry" with signage?

Utah is a shall-issue state, regarding CCW permits.

Packing.org is a great site for infomation on CCW laws.

ever notice that when there is a gun vote or anything else to do with guns, one of these nutjobs goes unhinged and starts shooting.
I wonder where HCI keeps the button controlling these people.

Odd.....they dont mention the name of the person involved.
everytime there was a school shooting, or someone shoots up a McDonalds or a Luby's, they not only tell the guys name, they give first, middle and last name, with Pictures and personal history.
Just Wondering.
