There were other more detailed articles on this I recall and other rebellions in Arizona against him, but this was the first I found when I ran the search.
On all matters McCain, my memory rarely fails me. I despise him passionately and every moment he suffers a humiliation like this just dessert, it's unforgettable. ;-)
I have to admit that it is interesting and seems to have more weight due to McLame's track record.
He is a very unstable, vindictive, and egotistical old man.
It's time to put this cantankerous old coot out to the dog track in his Members Only jacket, not elevate him to the highest office in the land.
Paybacks are a real bitch and John is going to find that out the hard way. RINOs are nearly as bad as libs.
What could sting more than an endorsement from Chrissy? LOL

And how about McCain Feingold?
The Nation stinks but tis article looks accurate to me. Thanks
The story is all spin. What is in it, what is left out, the characterizations and the insinuations all lead you to exactly where the author wants you to be. There has always been opposition to McCain within the Arizona party. I know, I was one of the first in 1982 and consistantly thereafter. It has been more of a factional dispute than internecine warfare. I was uncomfortable with McCain in '82 and have seen no reason to change my mind. He is, however, one of us. I am uncomfortable, not bitterly in opposition.
The people cited in this article are the true believers, the philosophical core of the Republicans. That is well and good in its place but it will lose Arizona to the Democrats. As you float from point to point in the article it is difficult to nail down the contextual distortions in absolute terms but if you want a factual error, try this: "encompassing Phoenix and Scottsdale (once home to Barry Goldwater)". The rest of the story is about as spot on as this snippet, in the vicinity but not quite there.

update the web site
I'm surprised that any Freeper would put a spitsworth of credence in anything published by the Nation. If McCain wins the GOP nomination, he'll sweep most of the western US. The left fears McCain and the right needs to wake up.
John McCain hands over to the enemies of conservatism the clubs with which they beat us with.
Well, gosh, now why would a leftist, radical rag like the Nation be digging dirt on McCain??
It couldn't be of course that the slithering creatures at the Nation are intent on turning off conservative support for McCain - and, eventually, for every Republican candidate except perhaps Chuck Hagel??
Perish the thought...
If McCain were the demon the Nation attempts to picture him as, the Nation would be working its putrid ass off to ensure that he is the Republican candidate.
What really sends the Nation and all the left into a psychotic frenzy is that McCain is openly, strongly, and with a hell of a lot of courage, supporting our mission, our troops, and the President on Iraq.
The Nation appears to be telling the same story as the Arizona Republic, McKook's hometown newspaper.

He never learns. The same tactic got him shot down and made a POW
Where is the error in that statement ?
.
McCain HAS no conservative support. His only support comes from RINO's and Liberal Independents which is why his polls are faling right now.
And perhasp you might read the entire thread to note a couple of different souces verifying what they are reporting, one from myself. It was reported in other venues a few months ago.
Goldwater lived in Paradise Valley.
