The Salt Lake City Police Department has identified four of its officers who entered Trolley Square mall on Monday to confront the man who killed five people.
Sgt. Andy Oblad, Sgt. Josh Scharman, Detective Dustin Marshal and Detective Brett Olsen will be honored by the Utah State Senate on Friday at 10 a.m. for bravery in the line of duty.
The Senate also will honor Ogden Police Officer Kenneth Hammond, who was off-duty Monday when the shooting broke out.
The five officers will be honored in the Utah House of Representatives at 10:30 a.m. and by Gov. Jon M. Huntsman at 11 a.m. in the Governor's Office.
Sulejman Talovic, 18, was killed during a shoot-out with police after he killed five people and seriously wounded four others about 6:45 p.m. Advertisement
You know I could swear I heard somewhere that the shooter was Muslim
I sure as hell didn't hear it from CBSABCNBCCNN or the New York Times
The liberals and the media in this country are in collusion with our enemies
The guy who filmed the thing will be on Hannity and Colmes tonight. It should be interesting to see what he has to say.
Would look something like a red checkered ribbon with a bronzed medal of a keffiyeh under cross hairs.
The photos of these four hero's wives go on for several more pages.
We honor these First Responder Heroes!
Semper Fi,
The media is not taking up the point that this spree may have been a Jihad action. Talovic Sulejmen was a Bosnian Muslim.
The obvious thing missing here is the fact that an off-duty policeman from Ogden City Police Department [Officer Ken Hammond] was the first to confront the shooter. It does not seem from this piece that Officeer Hammond is being honored. What an oversite!
Dittos on your post, and your tagline is great too!
Thank you. I must be going blind in my old age. What a day. I am really, really embarrassed; again.
