Pick Your Poison. Not Hillary.
To: onyx
Freepers have been saying for a year or more that Newt's negatives are worse than Hillary's; I'm sure Newt is well aware of that and so he's just playing a gave and liking that people are begging him to join the race.
He's a smart guy but his ego is one of the biggest in DC.

I would imagine that The Clintons have the
Goods on Rudy.

IMO, Newt is not politically viable for a national elected office --- MSM creamed him when he was Speaker and he's never been allowed to shed that baggage, unlike democrats who march in lock step with MSM.

Thank you for relating that story.
We have a lot of New Yorkers here who have been saying EXACTLY the same thing ... even our Rudy Ping List poster areafiftyone is coming to you straight from NY. :)

Hillary with her box full of FBI Files will destroy Rudy.
She has been campaigning against Rudy since 1996.

I heard that, too. Could it be that McCain no longer has his heart in this race? I am sure if he drops out he would support Rudy. They are good friends.

The Brontosaur in the corner is that the left keeps moving the center to the left, and the right lets them get away with it. The "right" now would be well left of the "right" of the last generation, and would be tried for sedition 3 generations ago.
All they need is one or two "extremists" to run up the flagpole per cycle, and they get their way every time.
McCarthyism and HUAC did more to wreck the right, and move the bar far to the right than any commies ever could have imagined in their wildest dreams.

I agree 100%. I've seen the powers that be around here pushing his candidacy which tells me that some people just aren't half as smart as they like to pretend.

I don't feel like dealing with the re-formatting necessary to post them cleanly. I already did that with question 13. If you want to see them, it's easy enough to jump to the poll by clicking on the link above.

Yep, I'm afraid so.
I really hate his gun ownership stand, his abortion stand or his gay rights stand, but I just can't understand those who would rather stand on the sidelines and allow Hillary to win
It is the same "brilliant" strategy that these people used when the said stay home and let the Democrats take over. There can be no comparison between the two of them. Hillary would/could be the ruination of our country.
God save us from stiff-necked Conservatives who would be willing to allow Hillary to win just because they can't get their way on everything.
To: Peach
there is still a long way to go of course. a long way.
But I will make a prediction now (what the hell) - if Rudy wins the nomination, and if he continues to look strong in the general election polls against Hillary as 2008 rolls on - OK here it is (drumroll) - the Bush family is going to offer up Jeb as the VP. I think Bush 41 wants another son to serve as president, I think the way Bush 43 has been treated leaves a bad taste in his mouth. If Rudy can take it, better to be his VP and setup for 2016 (Jeb will be 63 in 2016). Much the same way Bush 41 knew the right move to ascending to the presidency himself, was to hitch himself to Reagan in 1980.
To: william clark
Oh, I thought you were talking about some other poll. I've seen then numbers. There's no way around the fact that Rudy is in a better position, from all parties, than any other Republican candidate.

Newt is terrific as a policy guy. He has never been good at retail politics. There would certainly be a place for Newt in a GOP administration.
He, too, is a strong supporter of Rudy. I am sure if Newt dropped out, he would support Rudy.

Rudy - NO! McCain - NO!
I'll take any of the others before these two.
Here ya go.
All of the above are a more serious threat to this country due to their stupidity or their backing terrorism, than McCain or Giuliani.
IMO

Dennis Miller endorsed Rudy on O'Reilly last nite.
He said Rudy was the man that the men in the caves don't want to see elected.
O'Reilly did not disagree.
Miller then went on to say all you have to do is compare the many amount of funerals that Rudy went to compared to hillary's none and that should tell you the difference between the two.
From Ted Olson to Dennis Miller to Rich Lowrey....Rudy has got the mo,,,,,,,,,,

JFK would be a Republican today if he ran on the platform he ran on in 1960.
Republicans have moved left and there's no way they're going back to the middle or right after the last election. And Democrats have moved into some other place to the left of Marxism.
And which candidate is ever going to come along and take away entitlement programs? Nobody. Socialism is sinking the EU and it will sink us too.

One thing about Rudy, no matter how you feel about his position on social issues, he's got guts. We need a president with guts!

Then perhaps that makes the undeclared Newt a lot more politically savvy than those who are pushing his candidacy. Ya think?
