The CEO of Airbus apologized profusely, stating that at the time the decision was made to land in LAX, he had not realize that the airport was in Mexico.

Los Angeles airport officials said Wednesday that Airbus officials reneged on a promise to bring the new A380 jetliner to Los Angeles International Airport on its first U.S. test flight after the airport spent $9 million to accommodate the huge jet. Lay down with frogs...

I can't beleive they are taking that huge airplane into JFK. That airport is too tight even for small aircraft.

.....and its [LAX] older and often-criticized facilities. I've never been to Los Angelas International but It can't be worse than Miami [MIA] whichis almost like a 3rd-world gateway.

I agree with you. And whoever criticizes cannot have flown into Chicago. What a dump--both of them, O'Hare and Midway, except the newest concourse. I kind of like LAX.

WHAT?!!!!! There must be some mistake!

Given that fact that Boeing is also a Defense contractor, it would be highly-within AIRBUS's best interest to keep the WhaleJet as far away from Paene Field and King County International as possible. [just-kidding, of course]

Chicago is their Global HQ , no question or doubt there.
But BOEING, as well as AIRBUS, has 100's of facilities & buildings around the earth's continents....including the 2 airports that I mentioned....which are property of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Div.

You're welcome....although I'm not likely to transit either of the two airports.
