I think it is a good repost as it is something a lot of people use.

Oops. Just had some nice peanut butter toast about ten minutes before I saw this. Yep, new jar of Peter Pan 2111. Feeling fine. So far :)
..???..."yooo miennn da ssstuff ssstuck ack da rwof ovf mi moufft?
Discard it? Heck no, I will RETURN it and expect my money back.
Thank you for re-posting this. I just checked my jar of Great Value peanut butter and I have the code beginning with 2111...
Recently, I have had symptoms shown in the article along with a severe sinus infection (twice) which I am medicating now.
Two months ago, I really experienced a bout of these symptoms so I am grateful to have this information. Thanks again.

Right on! And then buy Jiff, as it is the best! Of course, making your own fresh peanut butter is even better! Just put roasted peanuts in your blender and use it up quickly!:)
Just checked my Peter Pan and it starts with 2111. Have had it a couple of weeks now, half gone, and noone has been sick.
Still throwing it away.
What happened? Did a toad hop in the vat?
So, that's why my mouse traps don't work.
Too late; my wife and I have finished about 3/4th of a 28 oz. jar. It probably took us at least 3-4 weeks to eat this much so I guess we are well past the danger point. It reminds me of a situation about 25 years ago when our (then about 6 year-old) son got a case of salmonella from contaminated milk. My wife and I, and our two year old daughter, had drunk from the same batch of milk without any harm. My point is, I guess it depends on what state your immune system is in - glad mine seems to be O.K. I hope any others of you who ate this stuff are also O.K.
Still fine an hour later.
It makes me question why government employees are so quick to want to destroy the belongings of others, especially corporations, on some neurotic's whim.
I conclude that Mel Brooks summed it up in "Blazing Saddles": "Gentlemen, we've got to protect our phony-baloney jobs!"
I just returned mine. They had already pulled all Peter Pan from the shelves. Manager just switched it out for another jar of whatever I wanted and said....I hope noone got sick.
Peter Pan peanut butter sucks.
The best PB is Jif.
Thank you for your feeeeellllings!
Thank you for your post! I just checked the pantry and found an 18 oz. jar of PPPB with the 2111 code on it. Fortunately the safety seal under the lid had not been removed yet. If you had not posted this, I might not have known about it until after I had used the product. And my son eats a peanut butter sandwich almost every day. Again, many thanks.
I've eaten half a jar of this peanut butter and feel fine. Should I still destroy it? What are the chances of it making me sick if the first half of the jar didn't?
I was always too embarrassed to go through the checkout line with "Peter Pan" peanut butter. Hence I've never bought any. And look who's laughin now.
In that case I would suspect the peanut butter. I once nearly died from diarrhea and I that that very seriously. I would think about getting to your doctor. I once was hospitalized when I came down with viral enteritis and my BP dropped to 80/40 and I could barely crawl to the doctor's office. I've never felt so sick in my life. I was hospitalized and put on intravenous fluids and in two hours I was ready to get out of there on back home. I felt absolutely horrible; worst I have felt in my life. It is a wonder I didn't die. I can certainly understand why old people die from the flu. Their systems just can't stand the strain.
