I guess my next question then, is instead of blowing up piplelines, perhaps "cutting them off" at a certain point.

Do pipleines hae safety valves or some kind of mechanism to shut off the flow at certain places in emergency situations?

The bottom line that I'm getting at is to come up with a way to prevent Iran from exporting until there is a regime change.

You need to talk to someone who worked for ARAMCO (ARab AMerican COmpany) as to whether they have blow out protectors, etc, on their well heads.

The current government being killed off, would be a good start.
