I agree heartily, Jim. This, as you say, "half conservative/half liberal" view of political thought is just weak conservative-lite thinking that wouldn't have a prayer in the Kirk or Scalia schools. This pitting of conservatives into "fiscal" versus "social" is a serious stumbling block that ought to be opposed at every juncture. Those who "pit" rather ought to concern themselves with a conservative coalition and not try to pass off libertarianism or moderate-Republicanism as genuine, freestanding conservative thought.

This is the heavy-lifting of getting folks to the polls with the MSM doing everything it can (short of melting the polar ice caps) to thwart the Good Guys.
